What to Bring on the Hikes

Applies to all but kids' hikes and business-district/north-side tours (these need water and snacks)
  • Gas  money (small bills to pitch in if carpooling)
  • Water, 1-3 liters, depending on the hike 
  • Backpack 
  • Boots or good sturdy walking shoes--no open-toed shoes.
  • Lunch or snacks, depending on hike
  • Poncho or other rain gear
  • Light jacket
  • Long pants (best to prevent scratches, bug bites)
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen/chapstick
  • Camera
  • TP and a plastic zipper bag to hold the used
  • Comfy shoes to change into after the hike
  • Sun glasses
  • Moleskin for the longer hikes
  • Bear spray if in grizzly country (Rocky Mt. Front, Rogers pass)
  • Insect/tick repellent as ticks are out
  • Personal medication and/or aspirin/naproxen for sore  muscles
Optional
  • Hiking sticks/poles
  • Binoculars
  • Extra clothes, just in case and for after the hike
  • Plastic bags for muddy/wet clothes if applicable
  • Mittens for cool mornings/evenings
  • GPS
  • Buff ​
Hike coordinator carries a first-aid kit.

HOW HIKE SIGN-UP WORKS

  • Click on the difficulty level in which you are interested above or below.
  • Then carefully read the hike descriptions. 
  • Find a hike that fits your fitness level.
  • Click on the registration button.
  • Select the number of hikers in your party. Click on "Check Out."
  • Fill out the form for each hiker. CORRECT EMAIL IS CRUCIAL.
  • ​You will receive an email confirmation and reminder.
  • ​Below is a video that explains how to drop a hike, or use the form at right to contact us if you have problems, questions, or would like us to cancel a registration for you.
